Material Type (Transparent Structure)
To maintain clarity and resistance without using aluminum, this packaging uses a laminated structure of two or three layers of plastic polymers. The most common combination is PET / PE or NY / PE:
Outer Cover (PET - Polyethylene Terephthalate or NY - Nylon): This cover provides the main barrier against oxygen, structural rigidity and a brilliant finish. Its smooth surface is perfect for ensuring that product adhesive labels stick without wrinkles or peeling off. Nylon is sometimes used instead of PET if extra resistance to perforations is required.
Inner Cover (PE - Polyethylene or LLDPE): This is the food grade film (Food Grade) that comes into contact with the liquid. Just like the metalized bag, this cover is the one that fuses with heat to seal the bag and mouthpiece.
Nozzle and Cover: Generally made of HDPE or PP, with its respective safety ring.
Main Features
Capacity: 12 oz (approximately 354 ml), standard size for individual or retail consumption.
Transparency (Visibility): This is your biggest commercial advantage. It allows the consumer to see exactly the color, the texture and the amount of content. It is a great visual attraction when packaging salsas, drinks, or thick consistency products such as creams or serums.
Stand-Up and Corner Design: Keep the fuel base to display from the floor and the mouthpiece at an angle for a clean pour.
Resistance and Properties of Barrera
Protection Barrier: Provides a good barrier against humidity and oxygen, but does not block light (UV rays). This means that if the packaged product oxidizes or degrades with sunlight or artificial light, its shelf life will be shorter in this packaging than in the metalized one.
Has high resistance to tearing and flexibility. Its thickness is around between 4 and 5.5 thousandths of an inch (mils). The ones that include Nylon in their structure are exceptionally resistant to falls and arrests without being re-injured.
Thermal Resistance: Supports very good refrigeration and freezing. Unlike metallized bags, these can only be microwave safe (although it is sometimes recommended to remove the rigid plastic lid before heating).
Hermeticity: Excellent liquid retention, designed to withstand the pressure of cleaning during transport and storage.
